We wanted to create an effective natural cosmetics that could be appreciated as good and healthy at every step. We had under our eyes a true elixir of Nature, we just had to extract it with love and exalt its useful properties for the care of human skin.
The right time came in June 2016, when my husband and me decided to concentrate our efforts on producing a line of products that brought together all the best that nature offers with its universal laws.
We already owned a plot of land that we had abandoned for some years. In the past we had used it as a pasture, as vegetable garden and as a vineyard. With the help of our friend Luca, we recovered and fenced it and sowed lettuce, cabbage and beet in order to create the ideal habitat to breed our snails, far from any polluting source
Then we purchased a certified breeding stock belonging to the Helix Aspersa Müller species that is the most common in Italy
Following the method that was already in use by the ancient Romans, our farm of land gastropods develops in wide but fenced spaces, away from any predators. Our snails are free to move, grow and reproduce, feeding on what we have sown and on what nature, with its flowers and perfumes, gives birth in our uncontaminated countryside.
The precious secretion released by snails when they are on their move has thus become the basic ingredient of all our cosmetics. Thanks to their mucin – the slime they trail in their wake – snails keep their bottom halves moist and protect themselves from environmental hazards such as rough surfaces, bacteria and UV rays. The active ingredients that preside over these functions have been used for thousands of years for healing and aesthetic purposes on human skin.
In fact, naturally rich in collagen, allantoin, elastin, mucopolysaccharides, glycolic and lactic acid as well as vitamins, amino acids and bio-active peptides, snail serum is a well-balanced concentration of all the ingredients that modern scientific research claims to be the most precious for the health and beauty of our skin. Its application boosts the regeneration of tissues, promoting cell turnover, deeply nourishes and moisturizes, carries on an intense lifting action, refines fine lines and reduces wrinkles, treats acne and promotes the cicatrisation of wounds and small excoriations.
When it is secreted by mollusks that are bred and pampered like ours, the snail serum is so rich and genuine that calling it simply “slime” is reductive. We prefer to think of it as a precious elixir of Nature.
In our formulations this precious elixir is supplemented with other natural active ingredients having a synergistic effect so as to meet the specific needs of all skin types in everyday life.
